Using the Library
REGISTRATION
Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Izumisano City, can apply for Library Card for free of charge.
You may apply for it at any Izumisano Public Library.
To get your library card, bring in a form of your identification(e.g. driver's license, company I.D., a piece of recently received postal mail, etc.) which verifies your name and current address.
Library Card is issued on the spot and can be used immediately. Your library card is valid at any public library of Izumisano City.
If your card is lost or stolen, please report to our library staff member immediately.
Any service with your library card will be suspended so that no one else can use your card.
When you change your address, phone number, or name, you will have to visit the library, for updating your membership information.
Please bring in a form of your identification with you that can verify your current address. We will update your library card information right away.
Using the library is free of charge.
The library protects your privacy.
Your loan record will be erased along with the completion of our processing the returned item.

BORROWING
You can borrow up to 15 items for 21 days.
Please bring over materials and your library card to the check-out desk.

RETURNING
You may return items to any branch of the Izumisano Public Library.
(Your library card is not necessary.)
After our library hours, books may be returned to the Library's Book Return Box.
Because audiovisual materials can be damaged when heavy books fall on the top of them in the Library's Book Return Box, they should be returned to the desk during the library hours.
SEARCH
The library classifies materials using the Nippon Decimal Classification (NDC).
- You can use a computer to search materials by titles, authors or keywords.
- You can also search materials by using the printed catalog.
- Please ask a library staff member if you need any assistance.
RESERVATION
You can reserve what you want to borrow when the item has been checked out by somebody else. In such a case you must fill in the request form and submit it.
The library will notify you as soon as the reserved materials are returned.
If what you want to borrow is not in this library, you can obtain it from other Izumisano library branches.
If the book you want to borrow is not in our libraries, we may possibly be able to obtain it from another library for you.
You can reserve only the audiovisual materials and the comic books that we possess.
This service is available only for user who lives in Izumisano City.
REFERENCE
Please feel free to browse through our reference sections in the library.
Reference books are as follows,
- Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, Yearbooks, White papers
- Izumisano Collection
- 1：25000 Topographic Maps of the whole country （only Cyuuou Library）
- Telephone directory of the whole country（The branch libraries own only the Kinki region）
- Newspapers
- Microfilms（only Cyuuou Library）
- Various Indexes, etc.
You can ask for help to find necessary information and materials.Please ask a library staff member if you need assistance.
PHOTOCOPYING
You can photocopy any materials in the library if it is within the restrictions of copyright laws.
Please fill out a photocopy application form.

GROUP LOAN
A group in the city (a home library, a company, a nursery, a school, or a reading group) , can borrow up to 200 books for 2 months.

- Braille book lending service
- Reading aloud service (by subscription)
For the Hard of Hearing:

For the Mobility Limited:
- Wheelchairs available in the library
- Accessible to the building with elevators
